Research area: Pecan breeding and genetics
Dr. Patrick Conner was born in rural Indiana and raised on a farm. Dr. Conner has a B.S. degree from Purdue University in Horticultural Science, and Ph.D. from Cornell University in Plant Breeding. Dr. Conner was hired by the University of Georgia Horticulture Department in 1998 to initiate a pecan tree breeding program. In 2004, Dr. Conner also began managing the University of Georgia's muscadine grape breeding program.
